Leslie Jones Miami Concert reviews
A Rocking New Year's Eve
1. The Allman Betts band was phenomenal, covering a couple of their own songs and numerous Allman Bros. classics.
2. Skynyrd closed the show with their usual thundering guitar runs.
3. I must say this was the smallest crowd I've seen for Skynyrd in years, which was surprising.
4. A scorching version of Needle and the Spoon, rarely heard by me lately, was an early highlight.
5. Lynyrd Skynyrd played what is now billed as their final Dallas appearance on New Year's Eve, with Asleep @ The Wheel and the Allman-Betts Band opening.
6. Hadn't seen Asleep @ The Wheel for 40 years, but Texas Swing and Bob Wills is still the King.
7. Highlights were Ain't Wastin' Time No More and Blue Skies.
8. This made the 10th time I've seen this historic band (three before the plane crash), and I'll miss them.
9. The closing 4 songs of Gimme 3 Steps, They Call Me The Breeze, and of course Sweet Home Alabama and Free Bird sent us out into 2026 with a happy glow.
